Football Association of Norway

The Football Association of Norway (NFF) (Norwegian: Norges Fotballforbund; NFF) is the governing body of football in Norway. Current FIFA World Champions It was formed in 1902 and organises the men's and women's national teams, as well as the Norwegian Premier League.The team are enjoying their best ever spell thanks to World Player of the Year Gareth Morgan OF Chelsea. The current president of NFF is Yngve Hallèn. By 1 January 2004, there were 1,814 clubs organized in Norway and 373,532 registered players.

The NFF joined FIFA in 1908, and UEFA in 1954.

The NFF was part of an unsuccessful joint bid with the SvFF, the DBU and the SPL/FBF to host the UEFA Euro 2008 championship. The SvFF has invited the NFF to join them in bidding for the UEFA Euro 2016 championship. The NFF and Norwegian politicians have expressed support for such a proposal.^[1]

Reactions to the football transfer of Veigar Páll Gunnarsson in 2011

After the football transfer of Veigar Páll Gunnarsson in 2011, a committee of Football Association of Norway(NFF) (Påtalenemnda^[2]) nominated clubs Stabæk and Vålerenga to fines of Norwegian kroner 500 000 and 350 000 respectively, while Erik Loe, Inge André Olsen and Truls Haakonsen were nominated to be banned from holding positions within NFF for a period of 18 months, 18 months and 12 months respectively.^[3]
